A common sight in Rio is the statue emerging out of morning fog, before the weather clears and thousands of tourists climb the mountain to get views up and down the city's coastline, including nearby Copacabana Beach to the right

“Songs Of Praise,” Isaiah 12:1) And In That Day thou shalt say, O Lord, I Will Praise Thee:  Though Thou Wast Angry with me, Thine Anger Is Turned Away, And Thou Comforted me.  2) Behold God Is My Salvation; I Will Trust, And Not Be Afraid:  For The Lord JEHOVAH is my Strength and my Song; He Also Is Become my Salvation.  3) Therefore with joy shall ye Draw Water Out Of The Wells Of Salvation.  Jeremiah 2:13; John 4:10, 14.  4) And In That Day shall ye say, Praise The Lord, Call Upon His Name, Declare His Doings Among The People, Make Mention That His Name Is Exalted.  5) Sing Unto The Lord; For He Hath Done Excellent Things:  This Is Known In All The Earth.  6) Cry Out And Shout, Thou Inhabitant Of Zion:  For Great Is The Holy One Of Israel In The Midst Of Thee.  Luke 19: 37-40.

Quest Study Bible – “Why tell people what they will say?”  v1-6, Isaiah was offering the people a broader perspective than the sufferings they were enduring.  He wanted to Encourage Them With Hope From God.  A similar Song Of Salvation came out of the first exodus (Exodus 15).  In a sense, Isaiah compared Israel’s new exodus from the nations with the old exodus from Egypt.  “Was Isaiah a Prophet or a poet?”  v1-6, Both.  Almost all Prophecy is couched (expressed) in poetry.  This hymn, though, was probably not used in Worship.  “That Day Of The Lord,” (13:6).  v1, “Why Are God’s Emotions So Volatile?”  v1,  God Is Not Distant And Uninvolved; He Cares Intensely About His Relationship With Us.  If He Were Indifferent About Our Sin, For Example, His Apathy (Lack of Concern) Would Show He Didn’t Care About Us As His People.  To increase the impact of his writing, Isaiah intentionally pictured God’s Emotions From Opposite Ends Of The Spectrum (Scale).

Matthew Henry’s Concise Bible Commentary –  The Song of Praise in this chapter is suitable for The Return of the outcasts of Israel from their long captivity, but it is especially suitable to the case of a sinner, when he first finds Peace and Joy in Believing, to that of a (and then to a) Believer, when his Peace Is Renewed After Corrections For Backsliding, and to that of (and then joined to) the whole company of The Redeemed, when they meet Before The Throne Of God In Heaven.  The Promise Is Sure, and The Blessings Contained In It Are Very Rich, And The Benefits Enjoyed Through Jesus Christ, Call For The Most Enlarged Thanksgivings.  By Jesus Christ, The Root of Jesse, The Divine Anger Against Mankind Was Turned Away, For He Is Our Peace.  Those to whom God Is Reconciled, He Comforts.  They are taught To Triumph In God and (in) their Interest In Him.  I Will Trust Him To Prepare Me For His Salvation, and Preserve Me To It.  I Will Trust Him With All My Concerns, Not Doubting but That He Will Make All To Work For Good.  Faith In God Is A Sovereign Remedy Against Tormenting Fears.  Many Christians Have God For Their Strength, who have Him Not For Their Song, they walk in darkness:  but those who have God For Their Strength Ought To Make Him Their Song; that is, Give Him The Glory Of It, and take to themselves The Comfort Of It.  This Salvation Is From The Love Of God The Father, It comes to us Through God The Son, It is Applied By The New-Creating Power Of God The Spirit.  When This Is Seen By Faith, the trembling sinner learns to Hope In God, and is Delivered From Fear.  The Purifying and Sanctifying Influences Of The Holy Ghost often are denoted (indicated) under The Emblem (Symbol) of Springing Water.  This Work Flows Through The Mediation (Intervention) Of Christ, And Is Conveyed To Our Souls By Means Of God’s Ordinances (Commands and Laws).  Blessed Be God, We Have Wells Of Salvation Opened On Every Side, And May Draw From Them The Waters Of Life And Consolation.  In the second part of This Gospel Song, ver. 4-6, Believers Encourage One Another To Praise God, And Seek To Draw Others to Join Them In It.  No Difference of Opinions about the times and seasons, and other such matters, Ought To Divide The Hearts Of Christians.  Let It Be Our Care That We May Be Placed Amongst Those To Whom He Will Say, Come, Ye Blessed Of My Father, Receive The Kingdom Prepared For You From The Beginning Of The World.
