“Come Thou Fount Of Every Blessing,” Oakwood University Aeolians Alumni Choir. Absolutely Amazing!

Quest Study Bible – “Is The Second Time yet to come?” v11, God First Reclaimed Israel When He Rescued Them From Egypt. Some believe that The Second Time is still in the future, when ethnic Jews will gather after Christ Returns. Others, though, think The Second Time was when God’s people, after being defeated and exiled to Babylon, were sent home by Cyrus, a Persian king, in 538 B. C. “What caused the feud between Ephraim and Judah?” v13, Following the rebellion that split Israel in two, Ephraim in the north remained rivals of Judah in the south (see Map 4 at the back of this Bible). In Isaiah’s day, animosity led to war when Ahaz, king of Judah, refused to join an alliance with Ephraim and Syria. Some think The Prophecy of an end to the feud was fulfilled when the Jews returned from captivity. Others, though, look ahead to a future Jewish Reconciliation When Christ Returns.
Nelson’s Compact Bible Commentary – v14, upon the shoulder: The image is that of a a bird of prey attacking another another bird. The Philistines, Edom, Moab, and Ammon; Israel’s traditional enemies; may represent the adversaries of The Messiah’s Kingdom. v15, Mighty Wind is an illusion to Exodus 14:21-27. The river refers to the Euphrates. dry-shod: As God had provided a dry passage across the Red Sea in The First Exodus, so in The Second Exodus He Would Remove Any Physical Barrier That Would Hinder The Return Of His People. v16, a highway symbolizes the certainty of the return, for no obstacles would hinder The Lord’s Returning Exiles (35:8-10; 40:3, 4; 57:14; 62:10).
Matthew Henry’s Concise Bible Commentary – v10-16, When The Gospel Should Be Publicly Preached, the Gentiles would seek Christ Jesus As Their Lord And Savior, And Find Rest Of Soul. When God’s Time Has Come For The Deliverance Of His People, Mountains of Opposition Shall Become Plains Before Him. God Can Soon Turn Gloomy Days Into Glorious Ones. And while we expect The Lord To Gather His Ancient People, and bring them Home To His Church, and also to bring in The Fullness of the Gentiles, when all will be united In Holy Love, Let Us Tread The Highway of Holiness He Has Made For His Redeemed. Let Us Wait For The Mercy Of Our Lord Jesus Christ Unto Eternal Life, Looking To Him To Prepare Our Way Through Death, That River Which Separates This World From The Eternal World.
